8–10 hours per week | Saturday and/or Sunday | Flexible hours
We are looking for a practical and reliable Weekend Janitor / Handyperson to join our team and provide additional maintenance support at our busy children’s nursery.
This would suit someone who is genuinely good at fixing, mending and making things, enjoys working independently and takes pride in keeping buildings and grounds looking their best.
What you'll be doing
- General repairs and maintenance, indoors and outdoors
- Spotting things that need repaired and taking the initiative to fix them
- Painting and decorating
- Basic joinery and DIY
- Basic electrical tasks, where appropriate and within your competence
- Gardening, grass cutting and hedge trimming
- Keeping our grounds, sheds and outdoor areas tidy and organised
- Repairing furniture, equipment and outdoor resources
- Helping to build and create outdoor play features and structures for the children
- We would particularly love to find someone who is creative and practical – the sort of person who can look at something and work out how to repair it, improve it or build something new
About you
- Practical and confident with tools
- Good at general DIY and repairs
- Able to work independently and use your initiative
- Reliable, organised and safety-conscious
- Happy working outdoors in all seasons
- Willing to turn your hand to a wide variety of jobs
Experience in maintenance, joinery, construction, gardening or a similar practical role would be useful, but being capable, resourceful and hands-on is just as important to us.
Hours
Approximately 8–10 hours each weekend, with flexibility to work the hours across Saturday and/or Sunday.
As we are a children's nursery, the successful applicant will be required to undertake the appropriate PVG Scheme checks.
If you're someone who enjoys fixing things, working with your hands and seeing the difference you've made at the end of the day, we'd love to hear from you.
Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
