The Role
The eLearning Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining engaging digital learning content and interactive training materials. The role works closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), instructional designers, and internal stakeholders to convert learning requirements into effective online learning solutions.
This role requires strong technical ability, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality learning content that supports business and training objectives. Along with expert knowledge in Articulate 360 and publishing courses to SCORM and xAPI formats for seamless integration with a Learning Management System (LMS).
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop engaging eLearning modules, digital learning assets, and interactive training materials
- Convert training content, storyboards, scripts, and source material into effective online learning experiences
- Build learning content using authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline and Rise
- Create interactive elements such as quizzes, scenarios, animations, knowledge checks, and branching activities
- Create learning content that aligns with instructional design principles and business requirements
- Learning Management System Support
- Upload and publish content to the LMS where required
- Enhance learning modules by incorporating stock and custom graphics, animations, audio, and video
- Use multimedia elements to improve learner engagement and support knowledge transfer
- Configure and publish courses to SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, and xAPI standards
- Troubleshoot publishing and integration issues to ensure seamless LMS delivery
- Conduct thorough quality checks on spelling, grammar, formatting, functionality, and usability
- Check course navigation, interactions, feedback, and tracking behaviour before final release
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as an eLearning Developer, Instructional Designer, or in a similar role, typically 2+ years
- Advanced proficiency in Articulate 360
- Strong understanding of LMS platforms and hands-on experience publishing and troubleshooting SCORM and xAPI packages
- Strong visual design skills, with a good eye for typography, layout, and learner-friendly presentation
- Experience using graphic design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to guide SMEs through the instructional design and development process
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, polished learning content
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Experience creating engaging digital learning assets and interactive content
- A portfolio demonstrating past eLearning projects, particularly SME-led content and custom interactions built in Articulate
