Job Overview
We're looking for a reliable, flexible and hands-on Van Driver/Warehouse Operative to support our busy events team during our peak trading periods.
This varied role is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the road as well as getting stuck into practical warehouse work. You'll help deliver stock and equipment to events across the UK, assist with event set-up and pack-down, and support our warehouse team with day-to-day tasks between deliveries.
No two days are the same, and we're looking for someone who is dependable, physically fit, and happy to work flexibly as business demands increase in the run-up to Christmas.
Key Responsibilities
Driving & Deliveries
- Safely drive company vans to event venues and other locations across the UK.
- Load, transport and unload stock, equipment and event materials.
- Plan efficient delivery routes and ensure timely arrivals.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and report any maintenance issues.
- Keep vehicles clean, organised and roadworthy.
Event Support
- Assist with setting up and packing down retail event stands and Christmas cabins.
- Help transport stock, fixtures and equipment to and from venues.
- Work alongside the events team to ensure events are ready to trade.
- Provide practical support on-site where required.
- Occasional overnight stays and weekend work may be required during busy periods.
Warehouse Support
- Assist with picking, packing and preparing stock for dispatch.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles.
- Help organise and maintain warehouse stock.
- Support inventory counts and general warehouse housekeeping.
- Assist the warehouse team with ad hoc operational tasks as required.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Confident driving long distances across the UK.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible with working hours.
- Good level of physical fitness with the ability to lift and move items up to approximately 25kg.
- Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
Desirable
- Previous experience driving vans or making commercial deliveries.
- Experience working in a warehouse, logistics or events environment.
- Experience with event set-up and pack-down.
- Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
Working Pattern
- Flexible temporary hours based on business needs.
- A mixture of weekday and weekend shifts, depending on event schedules and operational requirements.
- Regular UK travel to events, with some early starts and occasional overnight stays where required.
- Steady work available from August to October, with increased hours and additional shifts from October to December during our busy Christmas season.
- Flexibility is essential, as working hours will vary depending on delivery routes, event set-up and pack-down schedul
