Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Night Care Assistant to provide compassionate support and assistance to residents during overnight hours within a care home environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be reliable, and committed to delivering high-quality care. Responsibilities
- Monitor residents throughout the night, ensuring their safety and wellbeing
- Respond promptly to residents’ needs, including assistance with personal care or mobility
- Follow individual care plans accurately, respecting residents’ preferences and dignity
- Maintain accurate documentation of any incidents or changes in residents’ conditions
- Assist with light housekeeping duties as required to ensure a clean and comfortable environment
- Support residents with medication reminders or administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals regarding residents’ status
- Ensure the safety of all residents by adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Driving licence is advantageous for supporting residents outside the care home if required
- Good command of English, both written and verbal, for effective communication with residents and team members
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach towards residents
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care
- Organised, reliable, and able to respond calmly in emergency situations
