Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and organised Play Cafe Assistant to join our vibrant team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for children and their families, assisting with food and beverage service, and ensuring the smooth operation of the cafe.

Duties
- Welcome guests and ensure they have an enjoyable experience in the play cafe environment
- Serve food and beverages, including preparing simple snacks and drinks as required
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all food preparation and serving activities
- Assist children with play activities while ensuring their safety at all times
- Manage the cash register, handle transactions accurately, and maintain records of sales
- Keep the cafe clean, tidy, and organised, including sanitising tables, play areas, and kitchen surfaces
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth daily operations
- Support with organising special events or themed days within the cafe setting
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent customer service
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in serving food and beverages is preferred but not essential
- Knowledge of food safety standards is highly desirable
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Friendly, approachable manner with excellent communication skills
- Organised with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and safety standards

- Current DBS - But not essential.
- Available Every other Friday and Every other Saturday with the potential to cover other days. (1 week work a friday and the next week work a saturday) Then other shifts will be available as required.
