Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cattery Assistant to join us. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our feline residents. This position offers an opportunity to work in a caring environment, supporting animal health and providing excellent customer service to pet owners. The role involves hands-on animal care, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting staff as needed.
Duties
- Provide daily care for cats, including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status
- Assist with the administration of medication and treatments.
- Maintain a clean and organised cattery environment, ensuring hygiene standards are met
- Handle cats gently and confidently, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals’ needs and care routines
- Assist with inventory management of supplies and ensure equipment is maintained properly
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as moving supplies or equipment around the facility
Qualifications
- Genuine passion for animal welfare and excellent animal handling skills
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when required
- Organised with good attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and record keeping
- Reliable team player with a caring attitude towards animals and clients
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or holidays if required

Pay: £10.85-£12.71 per hour
