Overview
Haverfordwest Cricket Club is looking for an experienced and hands-on Club Steward to oversee our bar operations.
This full-time, permanent role is perfect for someone with proven bar and hospitality management experience who takes pride in running a welcoming and well-organised venue.
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the bar, leading a small team, managing stock, and ensuring the club is ready for members, guests, and private events throughout the week and at weekends.
This is a hands-on bar role – applicants MUST have experience working behind a bar and supervising staff in a hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm, professional welcome to our members and guests
- Managing bar operations during opening hours, including during events and private functions
- Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, snacks, and handling payments
- Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and presentation across the bar area
- Supervising and supporting bar staff, including preparing and managing staff rotas
- Monitoring and ordering stock - bar supplies, snacks, etc
- Maintaining compliance with licensing laws and health & safety standards
- Liaising with the Club Committee regarding bookings, events, and any facility issues
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a leader in a bar or hospitality role
- Hands-on bar experience is essential
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- A hands-on, can-do attitude and the ability to work well under pressure
- Strong customer service skills and confidence dealing with customers
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required

Full time, including evenings and weekends, with flexibility around booked events and functions

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £13.90 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
