Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled FLT Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklift trucks to handle materials efficiently and safely within our storage and distribution centre. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent mechanical knowledge and experience in warehouse operations. The FLT Driver will play a vital part in ensuring smooth shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and transport materials across the warehouse
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accordingly
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or report faults for maintenance
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking and storage in designated areas
- Support with general warehouse duties such as organising stock, maintaining cleanliness, and adhering to safety standards
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and meet operational deadlines
Requirements
- Valid forklift licence with proven experience in operating forklift trucks (preferably counterbalance)
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems and inventory control procedures
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor equipment repairs and troubleshoot issues
- Experience in materials handling, shipping & receiving, and load & unload operations within a warehouse environment
- Good organisational skills with basic mathematical ability for inventory counts and measurements
- Physical fitness for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or operating machinery
- Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable but not essential; training will be provided where necessary

Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
