Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a vital part of our kitchen operations, the Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen activities, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to organisational standards.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including cooks and junior chefs, fostering a positive team environment.
- Prepare high-quality dishes in line with menu specifications, maintaining consistency and presentation standards.
- Support food production processes, including ingredient preparation, cooking, and plating.
- Ensure all food safety regulations are strictly followed, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste and optimise supplies.
- Train and mentor junior staff members, promoting skill development and professional growth.
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery during busy periods.
- Assist in menu planning and development to keep offerings innovative and appealing to guests.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a similar role within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Extensive culinary knowledge with proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Previous experience in food production, restaurant service, or hospitality is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with a focus on team management and staff development.
