Children’s Registered Manager – Residential Children’s Home
HJ Talent is recruiting for an experienced Children’s Registered Manager to lead a a 3-bed EBD residential children’s home delivering safe, stable, and high-quality care for young people.
This role would suit an established manager who is confident operating within regulatory frameworks while maintaining a warm, child-focused environment.
About the Role
The Registered Manager will hold full responsibility for the leadership, management, and development of the children’s home. You will ensure the service operates in line with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding standards, and best practice, while promoting positive outcomes for children and young people.
You will be accountable for quality of care, staff performance, compliance, and continuous improvement of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the Ofsted Registered Manager for the children’s home
- Providing strong, consistent leadership to the staff team
- Ensuring the home meets all statutory, regulatory, and safeguarding requirements
- Overseeing care planning, risk management, and placement stability
- Recruiting, supervising, and developing staff to a high professional standard
- Managing rotas, budgets, and operational performance
- Working collaboratively with external professionals including social workers, commissioners, and education providers
- Creating a positive, nurturing environment where children feel safe, supported, and empowered
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a children’s residential setting (within the last 5 years)
- Strong understanding of Ofsted frameworks, safeguarding, and residential childcare legislation
- NVQ Level 5 / Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare
- Ability to lead, motivate, and hold staff accountable
- Willingness to be part of an on-call rota
- Full UK driving licence
