Summary
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive business growth across the Commercial Accounts and Engineer Recruitment Teams.
On the Commercial Accounts side you will be identifying new business opportunities and developing commercial client relationships.
A stable, reliable base of engineers is key to the success of the business, and you will be introducing and implementing innovative engineer recruitment strategies on our Engineer Recruitment Team.
You will be leading and supporting the performance of both teams to ensure the consistent delivery of a professional, responsive, high-quality service and the achievement of individual and team KPIs..
Responsibilities
· Develop and implement business development strategies to increase revenue, expand the Commercial Account Customer base and support the achievement of business growth objectives.
· Identify and secure new Commercial Account Customers through networking, lead generation and other business development activities.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with Commercial Account Customers through regular account reviews, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, retention and account growth.
· Lead, manage and develop the Commercial Accounts and Engineer Recruitment Teams, ensuring the consistent delivery of a professional, responsive and high-quality service.
· Oversee the recruitment, onboarding and retention of Engineers, ensuring sufficient coverage is maintained across all service lines and geographical areas to meet business demand.
· Monitor individual and team performance against KPIs and business objectives through effective performance management, coaching and regular feedback.
· Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and performance reviews, providing coaching, support and development to maximise individual and team performance.· Ensure customer enquiries, quotations, account management activities and engineer recruitment are completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with company procedures.
· Manage departmental staffing levels and resources to ensure appropriate service coverage and business continuity.
· Review departmental processes, analyse performance data and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity and the overall customer experience.
· Build and maintain effective working relationships with managers, customers, engineers, suppliers and other departments to support the achievement of business objectives.
About You
· Previous management experience within a service-based business, preferably in a B2B, Sales or Contact Centre environment.
· Proven experience of developing new business opportunities, managing commercial customer relationships and driving business growth.
· Experience of leading and developing high-performing teams through effective coaching, performance management and staff development.
· Experience of recruiting, onboarding and retaining field-based engineers or subcontractors would be advantageous.
· Strong commercial awareness with excellent sales, negotiation and account management skills.
· Confident decision-maker with excellent analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
· Self-motivated, proactive and results-driven, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, customers, engineers, suppliers and management.
· Ability to handle confidential and commercially sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
· Good technical aptitude with the ability to quickly understand company systems, processes and service offerings.
