Senior Commercial Property Solicitor
Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Commercial Property Solicitor to join our in-house legal team. The successful candidate will act exclusively for the company, providing clear and commercially focused legal advice across our property portfolio.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior solicitor with substantial commercial property experience—ideally 15 years’ PQE or equivalent—to work in-house for one client and manage a varied commercial property caseload.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist legal advice on a broad range of commercial property matters.
* Draft, review and negotiate commercial leases, licences, deeds of variation, lease renewals and other property-related agreements.
* Manage commercial property acquisitions from initial instruction through to completion.
* Conduct and review property due diligence, title documentation, searches and enquiries.
* Advise on landlord and tenant matters, including lease assignments, subletting, alterations and surrender arrangements.
* Support the business with property disposals, refinancing and portfolio management matters where required.
* Identify legal and commercial risks and provide practical solutions that protect the company’s interests.
* Liaise and negotiate with tenants, landlords, agents, lenders, external solicitors and other professional advisers.
* Ensure all property transactions comply with applicable legislation and internal procedures.
* Maintain accurate legal records and provide regular updates on ongoing matters.
* Monitor relevant legislative developments and advise the business on any potential impact.
Requirements
* Qualified solicitor with an active practising certificate and registration with the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
* Ideally 15 years’ PQE or equivalent substantial experience in commercial property law.
* Extensive experience handling commercial leases and commercial property acquisitions.
* Strong knowledge of landlord and tenant law and commercial property transactions.
* Previous in-house experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
* Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
* Commercially minded, with the ability to provide practical and solutions-focused legal advice.
* Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
* Ability to manage a varied caseload independently and meet competing deadlines.
* Proactive, organised and comfortable working closely with senior management and other departments.
