Federal Café is an independent and locally owned coffee shop aiming to bring a bit of Australian café culture to the north. We serve Ozone coffee, cocktails and a fresh, locally sourced brunch menu in a friendly and cozy atmosphere.
As Chef de Partie you will have a genuine passion for cooking high quality food with the freshest ingredients. You will be a team player with plenty of energy that enjoys working in a small team.
Reports to: Head Chef & General manager
Job Duties:
· Direct and Prepare cooking and other food preparation activities on a daily basis
· Ensure that every dish goes out to spec with care and perfect presentation
· Have a thorough knowledge of all aspects of the operation of the kitchen
· Work in a manner that promotes good health and safety practices
· Maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene both personal as well as at their work stations and within the kitchen
· Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
· Have the ability to remain calm and multitask when under pressure
· Be able to communicate well with other members of the kitchen and FOH team
· Take responsibility for deliveries, stock rotations, orders and checklists
· Be committed, reliable and flexible
Skills and Qualifications:
· Good interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic
· Be able to react and problem solve in a busy environment
· Excellent organisational Skills and meticulous attention to detail
· Experience in a fast paced breakfast kitchen
· A genuine passion and commitment to the guest experience
· Knowledge of food preparation regulations and standards
