HGV Class 1 Container Driver – Southampton
Lynx Transport Ltd is an established and growing freight company based in Southampton, specialising in container transport all year round.
Due to continued growth and expansion of our fleet, we are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 (Category CE) drivers to join our team.
We pride ourselves on providing a reliable, professional service and building strong working relationships with both our drivers and customers.
Container work only – no tramping. Drivers return to base at the end of their shift.
The Role
- Driving HGV Class 1 container vehicles
- Collecting and delivering containers between Southampton ports, depots and customer sites
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Completing delivery paperwork accurately
- Following drivers' hours, Working Time Directive and tachograph regulations
- Communicating with the transport office and customers throughout the shift
- Maintaining a professional and safety-conscious standard at all times
- Supported by a fully manned transport office with out-of-hours support
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category CE) licence
- Minimum 1 year's Class 1 driving experience
- Valid Driver CPC
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Container experience preferred but not essential – training can be provided
- Reliable and professional attitude
- Good communication skills
