Class 2 Tipper Driver
available to starting of October.
NSJ Haulage Ltd is looking for an experienced (May consider new driver) and reliable Class 2 Tipper Driver to join our team in Corby, Northamptonshire.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of tarmac, aggregates and other materials between construction sites, quarries and depots. The role requires a professional attitude, good geographical knowledge and a strong commitment to health and safety.
Salary & Hours
- Basic monthly salary: £2,800
- Overtime: £17 per hour for hours worked over 45 hours per week
- Full-time position
Essential Requirements
Applicants must hold:
- A valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- A valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- A good understanding of UK road and transport regulations
- A professional and responsible approach to driving and customer service
Main Responsibilities
- Transport tarmac, aggregates and other materials to and from construction sites, quarries and depots.
- Collect aggregates from quarries and deliver materials safely and efficiently to clients.
- Load and unload materials using the vehicle’s tipping mechanism, ensuring correct positioning and safe operation.
- Carry out pre-shift and post-shift vehicle checks, including regular walk-around inspections.
- Report any vehicle defects or safety issues promptly and accurately.
- Follow all road safety requirements, including the Highway Code and relevant road traffic legislation.
- Comply fully with Drivers’ Hours regulations, the Working Time Directive and all other applicable transport regulations.
- Ensure all loads are correctly secured and comply with legal weight and safety requirements.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean, tidy and roadworthy condition.
- Provide excellent customer service when dealing with clients, quarry staff and site personnel.
- Drive safely, responsibly and efficiently at all times.
- Use strong geographical knowledge to plan and complete deliveries and collections effectively.
- Follow company policies and procedures relating to health, safety and vehicle operation.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who is dependable, punctual and takes pride in their work. You should be confident operating a Class 2 tipper, comfortable working independently and able to communicate professionally with customers and other members of the team.
Experience in tarmac, aggregates, quarry work, construction haulage or tipper operations would be highly desirable.
