The Role
We are looking for a talented and motivated Artwork / Graphic Designer to join our busy production team. This is a varied, hands-on role focused on preparing client artwork for production while also providing excellent customer service.
**Important Note: This role does not involve creating original graphics or designing from scratch for clients. Instead, you will receive client-supplied designs and adapt/prepare them for our production facilities (screenprint, embroidery, DTG, vinyl, etc.). There may be emoluments in the future for this service to open up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, review, rework, and optimise client-supplied artwork files to production-ready standards for screen printing, embroidery, DTG, vinyl, and other processes.
- Modify, proof, and finalise design files ready for our production team.
- Liaise directly with the sales team and clients (via email, telephone, and face-to-face) to discuss designs, suggest technical improvements or changes, explain production limitations, and gain approvals.
- Participate in team meetings and provide clear guidance on what is or isn’t possible within our production capabilities.
- Create layouts, determine sizing and arrangement of illustrative material and text based on available space, visual impact, and production requirements.
- Answer the door, greet visitors, and handle general enquiries from time to time.
- Support parts of the production process as needed (e.g., basic production tasks, inventory maintenance).
- Work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment to meet tight deadlines.
Requirements
- Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop is essential.
- Some prior graphic design experience, ideally within apparel, print, or textile production workflows.
- Comfortable working on both Apple Macs and PCs.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Clear, confident, and professional communication skills, you will regularly speak with customers face-to-face, over the telephone, and via email.
- Positive attitude, team player, and willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of embroidery or specialist design software (e.g., Wilcom) is advantageous but not essential full training will be provided.
