Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced 3.5-ton Recovery Driver with mechanical experience to join our team. The position involves attending vehicles roadside to offer assistance as well as recovery to their designated destination. Workshop repairs/servicing will be required as needed
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 3.5-ton recovery vehicle, to transport broken down vehicles and ocupants.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic mechanical checks prior to each shift.
- Load and secure vehicles or equipment onto the recovery vehicle using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle logs, and any incidents or issues encountered during shifts.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members
- Follow all safety protocols and driving regulations to ensure personal safety and that of others on the road.
- Assist in workshop when not engaged in driving duties
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with recovery or flatbed vehicles.
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Mechanical knowledge/experience relevant to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience working in a workshop environment is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail for record keeping and compliance documentation.
- Physical fitness to load/unload vehicles and perform routine vehicle maintenance.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
