We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our night team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality care to our residents in a care home setting. Duties will be varied, and include supporting our residents, delivering person centered care. Your leadership skills will be essential as you supervise staff , administer medication, and ensure that care plans are effectively implemented. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and motivate a team, as well as liaise with families, and other healthcare professionals, ensuring continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support care staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Assist in the development and implementation of personalised care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation of records.
- Ensure that the care home environment is safe, clean, and welcoming for all residents.
- Participate in training and development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge in senior care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is highly desirable.
- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience supervising staff members.
- Knowledge of care plans and the ability to implement them effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage positively with residents and their families.
- Proficiency in IT systems relevant to healthcare documentation is an advantage.
- A compassionate kind and caring nature with a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for our residents.
- Able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.

*In addition to 33hr contract there is an expectancy to cover in times of staff absence and annual leave, and support colleagues to book in medication as and when required.
