Class 2 HGV Driver – Removals and Distribution
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team at our Reading depot. The successful candidate must have at least two years of Class 2 driving experience.
This is a hands-on driving position. As well as driving, you will work alongside the crew to load and unload vehicles and assist with commercial removals, distribution work and specialist technology moves.
We operate throughout the UK, with much of our work taking place in London. All shifts will start from our Reading depot.
Job Description
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Driving Class 2 HGV vehicles safely throughout the UK
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely
- Working inside client buildings alongside the removal team
- Moving office furniture, equipment and technology
- Protecting, wrapping and securing items during transportation
- Completing delivery paperwork and obtaining customer signatures
- Following drivers’ hours, Working Time Directive and company procedures
- Providing a professional service while representing the company
- Completing company training in furniture fitting and IT decommissioning and recommissioning
Working Hours
- Contracted to work a nine-hour day
- Flexibility required to work any five days out of seven
- Overtime will be required when necessary
- Early starts, late finishes and occasional weekend work may be required
- All shifts start from our Reading depot
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
- At least two years of Class 2 driving experience
- A valid Driver CPC card
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- A good understanding of drivers’ hours and road safety requirements
- The physical ability to assist with loading, unloading and removal work
- A flexible and reliable approach to working hours
- Good teamwork and customer-service skills
Previous removals, distribution, furniture fitting or IT relocation experience would be beneficial, but additional training will be provided.
Pay: £37,861.20 per year
