Kitchen Porter – Part-Time
Murphy Browns is looking for a reliable and hardworking Part-Time Kitchen Porter to join our friendly and professional kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities
- Wash, sanitise and store crockery, cutlery, glassware, cooking utensils and kitchen equipment.
- Operate and maintain the commercial dishwasher.
- Keep the kitchen, wash-up and storage areas clean, organised and hygienic at all times.
- Assist with basic food preparation when required.
- Follow correct stock rotation and food storage procedures.
- Clean and sanitise work surfaces, equipment and floors, including sweeping and mopping.
- Complete daily and weekly cleaning schedules and records.
- Dispose of waste and recycling in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety and HACCP compliance.
- Support the chefs and wider kitchen team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
Essential Requirements
- Previous Kitchen Porter experience is essential. Only applicants with relevant experience will be considered.
- Strong work ethic with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, fast-paced kitchen.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work well as part of a team.
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards.
Position Details
- Hours: 10–15 hours per week
- Shifts: Evenings and weekends

- Probation: Successful candidates will complete a 12-week probationary period, during which performance, attendance, reliability and overall suitability for the role will be assessed.
