Assistant Team Leader
Location: Plymouth, Devon
Pay Rate: £15.56 per hour PAYE or £20.18 per hour Umbrella
Contract Type: Temporary
Duration: 12 weeks
Hours: 37 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 6:00am–2:30pm; Friday, 6:00am–11:00am
Seven Resourcing is recruiting for an Assistant Team Leader to support a busy commercial waste service in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and proactive individual with strong communication and administration skills, ideally with experience working in a fast-paced operational environment.
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day support to operational teams, acting as a key point of contact for crews and customers. You will assist with the smooth running of the service by coordinating morning activities, responding to enquiries and completing a range of administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of a busy commercial waste service.
- Liaise with operational crews and provide support at the start of each working day.
- Issue keys and ensure crews have the necessary information and resources to begin their duties.
- Act as a key point of contact for operational staff, responding to queries and resolving issues where possible.
- Handle customer enquiries professionally and provide timely information and support.
- Communicate effectively with crews, customers, colleagues and managers.
- Complete a range of administrative duties, including scanning, data entry and updating spreadsheets.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure information is entered correctly onto relevant systems.
- Support the Team Leader with the coordination and smooth running of daily operations.
- Identify and escalate operational issues where appropriate.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, frontline operational environment.
- Carry out additional duties relevant to the role as required.
- Work overtime when required to support service delivery.
Applicant Requirements
- Previous experience in an administrative, coordination, supervisory or operational support role.
- Experience working within a frontline or fast-paced operational environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills and confidence dealing with a range of enquiries.
- Good IT skills, including experience using spreadsheets and carrying out data entry.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- A proactive and reliable approach to work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Flexibility to work overtime when required.
