About the Role
As a Specification Technologist, you will play a vital part in ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and legality. You’ll support the technical team by managing specifications, labelling, and customer-related technical administration—helping to deliver products that delight and perform.
This role is perfect for someone detail-driven, organised, and confident working with retailer systems in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Administration
- Maintain and manage product specifications across retailer-specific systems.
- Provide efficient administrative support to customer-facing technical accounts.
- Deliver and organise technical documentation and compliance records accurately and on time.
- Ensure all technical data meets internal and customer requirements.
Customer Systems & Compliance
- Become fully competent in retailer systems to input and manage product data effectively.
- Keep customer portals up to date and ensure timely approval of specifications.
- Guarantee that all product labelling complies with safety, quality, and legal standards.
Product Development & Launch
- Work closely with Technical and NPD teams throughout the product development cycle.
- Ensure specifications and labelling are completed before product launch.
- Proactively manage timelines to achieve seamless technical delivery.
Customer & Internal Engagement
- Act as a point of contact for technical admin queries for key customer accounts.
- Build solid relationships with customers to maintain trust and confidence in our business.
- Collaborate with NPD, Commercial, and Operations teams to align on product and technical requirements.
About You
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a specification technologist or technical admin role within the food industry (highly desirable).
- Competence with retailer spec systems (Tesco, Sainsbury’s, etc.) or a willingness to learn.
- Understanding of food safety, quality, and legal labelling requirements.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and customer platform use.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
