ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Metal Collection & Delivery Driver, you'll:
- Collect high-value metal materials and scrap from multiple locations within your designated area
- Deliver metal materials safely and securely to clients, following strict handling and safety protocols
- Understand and apply basic knowledge of metal types, weights, and material values
- Maintain complete confidentiality regarding items collected, routes, client information, and pricing
- Plan efficient collection and delivery routes to ensure timely pickups and safe delivery
- Load, secure, and protect valuable metal materials carefully, ensuring no loss or damage during transit
- Maintain accurate records of all collections and deliveries, including weights and material types
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers and clients regarding collection/delivery status and material details
- Perform routine vehicle checks and report any maintenance or safety concerns immediately
- Assist with weighing, inspection, and assessment of metal materials when required
- Follow all security procedures, safety protocols, and company procedures without exception
- Perform heavy lifting as part of the role (metal materials can be heavy)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate collection and delivery vehicles in full compliance with all traffic laws and security regulations
- Collect and deliver high-value metal materials and scrap from/to multiple designated locations within your area
- Identify and apply basic knowledge of different metal types, weights, and material values
- Follow strict security protocols and company procedures for handling and transporting valuable metals
- Maintain complete confidentiality regarding all items, routes, clients, and business operations
- Plan efficient collection and delivery routes to meet daily targets and schedules
- Load, secure, and protect valuable metal materials carefully, ensuring safe transit with no loss or damage
- Perform heavy lifting and material handling with proper techniques (metal materials can be substantial weight)
- Assist with weighing and inspection of metal materials when required
- Complete all collections and deliveries within scheduled timeframes and record transactions accurately
- Communicate professionally with dispatchers and clients about collection/delivery status and material details
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, including safety systems and cargo security, and report any concerns immediately
- Maintain a professional, trustworthy manner with all clients and colleagues
- Never discuss collection details, delivery information, routes, or material values outside of work (confidentiality essential)

WORKING HOURS:
Standard Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Every other Saturday: Hours vary based on workload
- Flexible early starts: You may be requested to start earlier (6:00 AM) on certain days; advance notice will be given when possible
- Consistent schedule – you'll know your rota in advance
Early starts are part of the role and may be requested to meet collection/delivery deadlines or client requirements. Overtime is available and paid.
