Inventory Lead Operative
We are looking to recruit a Lead Operative working in our Inventory department based in Kingsway Business Park, Rochdale.
As Lead operative, you will require good attention to detail. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate stock levels, supporting end-of-day pick requirements and leading a small late-shift Inventory team through task delegation, night-shift handovers and system-driven investigations.
You will support the team through new system changes by resolving issues, improving processes and embedding best practice. It is a hands-on position where you will be required to actively get involved with the completion of the tasks on the shop floor.
Working Hours: 10.00am – 6.00pm Mon-Fri (Initial start period during training 06.00 am to 2.00pm )
Key Tasks
- Maintain operational flow within your area
- Support Inventory Manager / management team in delivering shift performance
- Guide and support operatives in task execution
- Ensure adherence to processes and standards
- Act as first point of escalation for issues
- Support training and onboarding of new starters
- Keeps the operation moving efficiently
- Identifies and resolves issues early
- Supports team performance and standards
- Communicates clearly with the management team
Skills / Knowledge / Experience
- Good planning, organisational and prioritising skills.
- A good knowledge of stock inventory systems
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Ability to delegate and give clear instructions
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the company
- Ability to investigate stock issues
- Competent IT user with proven capability of using in house computer systems.
