Hospitality Assistant – City of London
Full-time | 40 hours per week | 10:00 AM–6:30 PM | Monday–Friday | FIKA Catering
We’re looking for an experienced Hospitality Assistant to join the FIKA team at one of our premium City of London locations.
This is a highly professional, client-facing environment where presentation, attention to detail and exceptional service are incredibly important. We’re looking for someone who takes genuine pride in the small details — from a perfectly presented boardroom and polished glassware to ensuring refreshments arrive exactly when and where they are needed.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining corporate hospitality, meeting-room service, food service and barista duties. You’ll need to be organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of your area while working closely with the wider FIKA and reception teams.
About FIKA
At FIKA, we believe great hospitality is about much more than simply serving food and drink. It’s about creating welcoming spaces, anticipating what people need and delivering consistently excellent experiences.
Our teams work across some of London’s most exciting workplaces, delivering high-quality food, coffee and hospitality with a strong focus on people, professionalism and attention to detail.
Coffee is also a huge part of what we do. Our teams are supported by the Bloom Coffee Academy, FIKA’s in-house coffee training and social impact programme, giving our people access to continued development, specialist coffee training, sensory sessions and SCA education.
We’re proud to have been named Boutique Caterer of the Year and recognised as one of the UK’s Top 10 Best Companies to Work For.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll help ensure that hospitality across the site runs smoothly and consistently to a very high standard.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up, maintaining and clearing down breakfast service
- Setting up the Boardroom and other meeting rooms to an exceptional standard ahead of meetings
- Ensuring meeting rooms are fully stocked with the correct glassware, crockery, snacks and refreshments
- Clearing down and resetting rooms efficiently between bookings
- Maintaining consistently high presentation standards across all hospitality and meeting-room spaces
- Delivering food, coffee and refreshments to meetings accurately and on time
- Communicating closely with reception to understand guest requirements, timings and any last-minute changes
- Setting up, serving and supporting sandwich and hot lunch services
- Polishing glassware and cutlery to a high standard
- Maintaining, replenishing and cleaning kitchenettes throughout the building
- Cleaning and maintaining coffee equipment
- Supporting coffee service and preparing drinks when required
- Closing down the coffee bar at the end of service
- Washing dishes and keeping back-of-house areas clean, tidy and organised
- Monitoring stock and replenishing hospitality supplies before they run low
- Supporting the wider team with day-to-day operational requirements
- Proactively identifying anything that needs attention rather than waiting to be asked
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone with previous hospitality experience, ideally within a premium corporate, hotel, restaurant or similar high-standard environment.
You’ll be someone who:
- Has excellent attention to detail and very high presentation standards
- Is confident and professional when interacting with clients, guests and visitors
- Has previous hospitality experience
- Has barista experience and is comfortable preparing quality coffee
- Takes pride in creating beautifully presented hospitality spaces
- Is organised and able to manage multiple bookings and priorities
- Can work independently and proactively identify what needs doing
- Communicates clearly with reception, colleagues and the wider team
- Remains calm and professional when plans or requirements change
- Is comfortable working in a hands-on role and supporting wherever needed
- Is reliable, punctual and consistent
- Understands the importance of discretion and professionalism in a corporate environment
- Brings a warm, friendly and genuinely hospitable approach to everything they do
For this role, the details really matter. We want someone who notices the fingerprints on a glass, the missing teaspoon, the chair that isn’t quite straight or the meeting room that needs resetting before anybody else does.
What you’ll get from us
- 40-hour working week, Monday–Friday
- 10:00 AM–6:30 PM shifts
- 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
- Private health insurance after probation
- Full access to Bloom Coffee Academy training
- Free coffee and discounted food
- FIKA’s Legend Buddy programme
- Ongoing training and development
- Genuine opportunities for progression within FIKA
- The opportunity to work in a premium, beautifully designed workplace
- Support from a growing, people-focused independent catering company
Sound like you?
If you take pride in exceptional hospitality, notice the details others miss and enjoy creating a professional and welcoming experience for every guest, we’d love to hear from you.
