Salary: £13.00 – £16.00 per hour
Job Purpose: To deliver high-quality, person-centred care to vulnerable adults. As an Agency Healthcare Assistant at WinCARE Recruitment, you will step into various healthcare environments to support permanent teams. Your main goal is to promote independence, preserve dignity, and ensure the well-being of all residents and patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Personal Care: Assist residents with everyday tasks like washing, dressing, showering, and personal hygiene.
- Support Mobility: Help residents move safely using specialised equipment like hoists, stand-aids, and slide sheets.
- Assist with Nutrition: Serve meals, clear away dining spaces, and directly assist residents who need help eating or drinking.
- Monitor Health & Well-being: Take basic observations (such as checking skin integrity or physical comfort) and promptly report any changes in a resident’s physical or mental status to the nurse in charge.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Document daily care logs, fluid balance charts, and nutritional sheets accurately and clearly before the end of each shift.
- Ensure Safety & Infection Control: Keep environments clean, tidy, and hygienic. Follow all health and safety policies to protect yourself and the residents.
- Deliver Compassionate Companionship: Build a warm, friendly rapport with residents to reduce loneliness and make them feel safe and comfortable.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 3-6 months of paid experience working as an HCA or Care Assistant within the UK.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written English communication skills to interact with staff, patients, and families.
- Compliance Checks: A valid, Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for a new one via our compliance team).
- Mandatory Training: Proof of up-to-date Mandatory Care Training certificates (or a willingness to complete training).
- Adaptability: A positive "can-do" attitude with the flexibility to quickly adapt to different team dynamics and environments.
- Right to Work: Valid proof of your right to work in the UK.
