We produce award-winning ice cream using milk from our own cows and welcome families to our farm park for memorable days out filled with animals, food, fun and opportunities to learn about farming and rural life.
We are looking for a Retail & Customer Experience Supervisor to lead our front-of-house team and help us deliver consistently excellent service across our farm entrance, gift shop and ice cream parlour.
This is a hands-on supervisory role for someone who enjoys leading a team, improving the customer journey, driving retail performance and keeping busy visitor-facing areas running smoothly.
The Role
As Retail & Customer Experience Supervisor, you will take day-to-day responsibility for our key front-of-house areas.
You will lead and support a small team of Customer Service Assistants, maintain excellent retail and service standards, and work closely with our Operations and Food & Beverage teams to ensure every visitor receives a warm, efficient and memorable experience.
Weekend and weekday working is an essential part of this role
Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Customer Experience
- Lead, support and motivate a small front-of-house team
- Set and maintain high standards of customer service
- Create a friendly, welcoming and professional environment for every visitor
- Respond to customer enquiries and resolve issues calmly and effectively
- Train and develop team members in customer service and operational best practice
- Lead by example during busy periods
Retail & Sales
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the gift shop, entrance and ice cream parlour
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue
- Maintain attractive, well-stocked and commercially effective product displays
- Manage stock levels, ordering and stock control
- Review product performance and help develop the retail offer
- Work with suppliers to achieve good value while maintaining quality and budget requirements
Staffing & Operations
- Prepare team rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Work with the Operations Manager to manage wage costs effectively
- Support preparations for events, peak trading periods and special activities
- Help ensure front-of-house areas operate smoothly, safely and efficiently
- Hold regular training and event meetings to ensure a smooth operation during our special events and maintain consistent high standards
Bookings & Visitor Activities
- Oversee bookings for activities including farm admissions, animal experiences and special events
- Ensure booking information is accurate and communicated clearly to relevant teams
- Help deliver a seamless experience from initial booking through to the visitor's arrival
Hygiene & Standards
- Maintain excellent cleanliness, food hygiene and presentation standards
- Work closely with the Food & Beverage Manager to ensure procedures are followed consistently
- Support the team in maintaining a safe, organised and professional working environment
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Previous supervisory or team-leading experience in a customer-facing retail, leisure or hospitality environment
- Strong customer service skills
- Confidence leading, supporting and motivating a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to remain calm and organised in a busy environment
- Good attention to detail
- A proactive, hands-on approach
- Confidence using IT systems, including EPOS tills and sales reporting tools
Desirable
- Experience of stock management, ordering or supplier relationships
- Experience analysing sales performance or working to budgets
- Knowledge of food hygiene standards
Food hygiene training can be provided where required.
