Overview
A specialist provision in Blackpool is recruiting an Emotional Wellbeing and Behaviour Support Practitioner to join their multidisciplinary team from September. The school supports pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs, behavioural challenges, autism spectrum condition, attachment needs and complex learning difficulties.
Working closely with educational staff, pastoral teams and external professionals, the successful candidate will play a key role in helping pupils develop emotional resilience, positive behaviour and the skills required to access education successfully.
This is a full-time opportunity that has the potential to become a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted emotional and behavioural support to pupils throughout the school day.
- Implement behaviour support plans and emotional wellbeing interventions under the guidance of school staff.
- Support pupils to understand, manage and express emotions appropriately.
- Adapt support strategies to meet individual social, emotional and learning needs.
- Use restorative approaches, de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement where appropriate.
- Facilitate opportunities for personal development during lessons, interventions and social situations.
- Support pupils to develop resilience, confidence and positive coping strategies.
- Monitor, record and evaluate progress against emotional wellbeing and behavioural targets.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, carers and external agencies to ensure consistency across settings.
- Promote pupil wellbeing, inclusion and active participation in all aspects of school life.
Pre-requisites:
- Experience supporting children or young people with emotional or behavioural needs.
- Understanding of SEND, SEMH and positive behaviour management.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches and emotional wellbeing interventions desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Patient, supportive and highly organised approach.
- Experience within education, care, youth work or SEND settings beneficial.
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Psychology, Health and Social Care or equivalent experience desirable.
Pay: £95.00-£115.00 per day
