Vehicle Strip Fitter
Location: Livingston, West Lothian
Shift: Monday-Friday, 07:30-16:30 (working hours can be discussed at interview)
Salary: £41,230 per annum
Contract: Full-Time, Temp to Perm
We are currently recruiting for experienced Vehicle Strip Fitters to join a busy automotive bodyshop in Livingston. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a Temp to Perm position within a modern workshop, working on a wide range of vehicles and supporting the repair process from start to finish.
We are looking for reliable and motivated individuals with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced bodyshop environment.
The Role:
As a Vehicle Strip Fitter, your responsibilities will include:
- Stripping and refitting body panels and components on a range of vehicles.
- Removing parts and fixings, ensuring they are correctly labelled and stored ready for reassembly.
- Refitting vehicle components following repair work to manufacturer standards.
- Carrying out repairs using approved methods to restore vehicles to their original condition.
- Supporting other areas of the bodyshop when required.
- Working efficiently to achieve productivity and quality targets.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Assisting with the training and support of junior colleagues where required.
The Person:
- Previous experience working as a Vehicle Strip Fitter, MET Technician, or in a similar bodyshop role is essential.
- Own tools are preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences.
