About the Role
Gaugemaster Controls Ltd is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Workshop Production Assistant to join our busy production team. This is a varied, hands-on role that combines production, warehouse and workshop administration duties. The successful candidate will play an important part in ensuring products are assembled to a high standard, customer repairs are processed efficiently and stock is accurately managed.
The ideal candidate will be organised, practical and able to work accurately while following established procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Booking customer returns into the Sage accounting system for repair or investigation.
- Booking repaired items out through the Sage accounting system ready for dispatch.
- Assembling Gaugemaster Controls products in accordance with production procedures and quality standards.
- Packaging finished products for storage and dispatch.
- Picking components required for production and assembly work.
- Stowing stock and maintaining organised storage locations.
- Assisting with stock control and inventory accuracy.
- Carrying out quality checks on products during assembly and packing.
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe workshop environment.
- Supporting other workshop and production activities as required.
- Following company quality procedures and health and safety requirements at all times.
Skills and Experience Required
The successful applicant should possess the following:
Essential
- Good computer literacy.
- Ability to learn and use the Sage accounting system.
- Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Excellent spelling and grammar.
- Ability to follow written instructions and established processes accurately.
- Good organisational skills.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a small team.
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a production, manufacturing or warehouse environment.
- Experience using Sage or similar accounting/stock control software.
- Experience in assembly work or electronics manufacturing.

- Workshop processes.
- Health and Safety requirements.
- Quality control procedures.
Pay: £26,460.00 per year
