About the vacancy:
We're looking for a motivated and experienced Repairs & Maintenance Supervisor to lead and support our team of operatives in delivering a high-quality repairs service. You'll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day repairs activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while providing leadership, coaching and technical support to the team.
This role is ideal for someone with strong maintenance knowledge, excellent people management skills and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service and continuous improvement.
A full UK driving licence is essential to this role
Specifically, in the role you will:
Operational Delivery & Work Coordination

Supervise day-to-day operational delivery of responsive repairs and routine maintenance.
- Allocate work to operatives, ensuring clear instructions, correct resources and appropriate priorities.
- Carry out onsite visits to monitor progress, resolve issues and provide technical direction where needed.
- Ensure consistent application of standard working procedures across the team.
- Provide out-of-hours support when required, including responding to urgent property-related issues and supporting service continuity.
Performance, Productivity & Continuous Improvement

Monitor performance against KPIs including first time fix, job completion times, quality and customer satisfaction.
- Provide feedback to operatives to support better performance, efficiency and service consistency.
- Identify issues or bottlenecks that impact productivity and escalate improvement opportunities to the Team Leader.
- Support implementation of new processes, digital tools or resource changes that enhance efficiency and alignment of services.
Cost Control & Value for Money

Ensure operatives use materials, time and resources responsibly and cost effectively.
- Monitor wastage and identify cost saving opportunities (e.g., improved planning, fewer return visits, better stock usage).
- Support commercial awareness and adherence to Hedyn’s financial controls.
Quality, Health & Safety & Compliance

Conduct onsite quality checks, supports van audits, and ensure operatives follow safe working procedures.
- Promote adherence to RAMS, safe systems of work, H&S legislation and organisational policies.
- Address safety concerns promptly and support a strong, proactive safety culture.
- Ensure the team is audit ready and maintains high compliance standards at all times.
Customer Experience & Service Quality

Promote a customer first approach in all field based activities.
- Respond to onsite customer issues promptly and professionally, ensuring concerns are addressed.
- Capture learning from customer feedback and share with the Team Leader to support service improvement.
Team Coaching & People Management

Provide daily supervision to operatives, offering coaching, technical support and guidance.
- Support regular 1:1 discussion by providing performance insight and feedback to the Team Leader.
- Identify early signs of performance issues and work with the Team Leader to address them.
- Promote Hedyn’s values and foster a positive, collaborative and accountable team culture.
- Provide guidance, coaching and structured on the job training opportunities through recognised apprenticeships, across a range of trade disciplines, supporting with professional development and ensuring high quality skills progression in line with service standards.
Collaboration & Cross Team Working

Work effectively with planners/schedulers, surveyors and other internal teams to enable seamless service delivery.
- Communicate issues impacting delivery to the Team Leader in a timely manner.
- Support joint working across Property Services, Housing and Customer Services to improve overall customer experience.
