Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Catering Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. In this lively role, you will support the smooth operation of our catering services, ensuring guests and members receive excellent service in a friendly environment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic setting and has a passion for delivering memorable hospitality experiences.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food and beverages to guests and members in accordance with health and safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the catering areas, including counters, tables, and kitchen equipment
- Assist with setting up event spaces, including arranging tables, chairs, and serving stations
- Take orders accurately, process payments efficiently, and handle cash or card transactions securely
- Support stock management by replenishing supplies and notifying supervisors of inventory needs
- Provide friendly assistance to guests, answering questions and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors
Skills
- Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail when preparing food, serving customers, or maintaining cleanliness
- Flexibility to adapt to busy periods and varied tasks throughout shifts
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene standards and health & safety regulations (training can be provided if needed)
- Previous experience in catering or hospitality is advantageous but not essential
