Duties
- Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure their safety and comfort, responding promptly to their needs or concerns.
- Conduct regular checks on residents’ wellbeing, including mobility, hydration, and personal hygiene needs.
- Assist with nighttime routines such as medication reminders or assistance with toileting and repositioning.
- Maintain accurate records of residents’ conditions and any incidents that occur during your shift.
- Communicate effectively with day staff to relay important information about residents’ overnight status and any changes observed.
- Follow care plans meticulously to deliver personalized support tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Ensure the environment remains safe by checking for hazards, securing doors and windows, and maintaining cleanliness.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with residents, colleagues, and emergency services.
- Basic IT skills for recording notes and updating care records accurately.
- Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting residents’ transportation needs if required.
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care.
- Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals through attentive and respectful care.
