Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Night Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to residents in a care home setting during overnight hours. Duties
- Monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond promptly to their needs during the night shift
- Assist with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility, and medication administration in accordance with care plans
- Ensure the safety and security of residents by conducting regular checks and maintaining a safe environment
- Document any incidents or concerns accurately and report to senior staff as required
- Support residents with activities that promote comfort and dignity
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of communal areas and residents’ rooms
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care
- Use IT systems to update records and manage care documentation efficiently
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care environment is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures relevant to elderly or vulnerable adults
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to ensure clear interactions with residents and team members
- Good IT literacy for managing electronic records and documentation
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to support others’ wellbeing
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of care
