Summary
We are seeking a proactive and reliable Yard Shunter Loader to join our busy logistics operation. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced yard professional to play a key role in supporting our warehouse and loading teams.
The Role
Working within a fast-paced logistics environment, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers throughout the yard, ensuring loading and unloading operations run smoothly and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Moving trailers safely around a busy yard.
- Carrying out trailer changes and trailer swaps as required.
- Positioning vehicles accurately onto warehouse loading bays for loading and unloading.
- Setting and monitoring trailer temperature regimes in line with operational requirements.
- Liaising closely with warehouse and transport teams to support daily operations.
- Maintaining high standards of safety and compliance at all times.
Full shunter training will be provided for the right candidate.
About You
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and operational efficiency.
Experience:
- [Essential] Valid UK Car License
- [Desirable] Experience driving large vehicles such as vans, 7.5T trucks, agricultural vehicles, plant machinery, or similar equipment
- [Desirable] A good understanding of the safety processes and responsibilities involved in operating large vehicles.
- [Essential] Ability to work efficiently and safely in a busy yard environment.
- [Essential] Strong communication and organisational skills.
- [Essential] A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
