Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Systems Manager to join our team.
This position is a maternity cover role on a fixed-term contract for up to 12 months.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing the quality strategy, policies, processes, standards and systems for the company and its supply chain to operate within. This may at times include auditing to ensure compliance. Embedding a culture of Food Safety continuous improvement throughout the company.
Key Accountabilities:
- Establish and integrate the food safety quality manual.
- Lead the sites Quality Management Systems to comply with regulatory, customer, industry and third party/ accreditation bodies.
- Supporting and implementing new quality systems for the company.
- Managing the food safety plan and HACCP Team
- Co-ordinating VACCP & TACCP
- Complete specifications, SAQ’s, supply chain of custody at the request of the customer.
- Support NPD with development specification ensuring that all products are made within the legal requirements & any claims are validated.
- Perform specification comparisons and advice the next steps required for that ingredient.
- Complete finished product specifications for customers
- Support the business in creating, communicating and driving the site food safety and quality culture plan.
- A strong commitment to and awareness of Health and Safety, as you’ll be required to comply with our health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- A strong commitment to and awareness of Good Manufacturing Practice and the global standard for food safety
- Ensure that products manufactured on site are legal, safe, authentic and of a high standard
Ideally, the successful candidate would possess the following skills & attributes: -
Technical and Quality Skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety, quality management systems and compliance requirements
- Experience maintaining or developing Quality Management Systems
- Understanding of HACCP, with the ability to lead or support a HACCP team
- Knowledge of VACCP and TACCP processes
- Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice
- Awareness of relevant legal, customer, accreditation and third-party audit requirements
- Ability to manage food safety plans, quality manuals, specifications and technical documentation
Specification and Compliance Skills
- Experience completing customer specifications, supplier approval questionnaires and supply chain documentation
- Ability to review ingredient and product specifications and identify required next steps
- Understanding of product claims, legal compliance and validation requirements
- Strong document control and record-keeping skills
Leadership and Communication Skills
- Ability to lead quality and food safety initiatives across departments
- Strong communication skills to promote food safety culture across the site
- Confidence working with internal teams, customers, suppliers and external auditors
- Ability to influence others and encourage continuous improvement
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to investigate issues, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

Pay: £40,000.00-£43,000.00 per year
