Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista/Catering Assistant to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality food items, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with catering operations. Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, salads, and other catering items.
- Serve customers in a courteous and professional manner, taking orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the counter area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
- Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth service during shifts.
- Handle cash transactions accurately using the square till system and provide correct change.
- Assist with catering setup, delivery, and breakdown for events or functions.
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all staff and customers.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar food service role is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety standards is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable manner.
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for cash handling purposes.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods.
- Experience in serving food and beverages efficiently in a high-volume environment is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure quality standards are maintained at all times.
- Ability to work flexibly across various shifts, including weekends if required.
