Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Nurse to join our dental practice. Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and sterile
- Provide excellent patient care by offering reassurance, explaining procedures, and ensuring patient comfort throughout their visit
- Maintain accurate patient records using IT systems, including updating treatment notes and scheduling appointments
- Ensure the clinical environment adheres to strict hygiene and safety standards, including sterilisation of instruments and equipment
- Support with administrative tasks such as managing patient appointments, answering queries, and organising clinic supplies
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a smooth flow of patients through the practice
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral health maintenance
Skills
- Strong patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards patients of all ages
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to effectively liaise with patients and team members
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a busy clinical environment
- Basic IT skills for maintaining electronic health records and scheduling systems
- Knowledge of nursing principles relevant to dental care is desirable but training will be provided for those new to the field
- Ability to work well as part of a team, demonstrating professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail
