Job Overview
We are looking for a friendly and organised Coffee Shop & Catering Assistant for our coffee shop within the Offices at Level Q.
Must be able to work on their own initiative and be able to work an espresso machine as well as make sandwiches and for this post you will be mainly working on your own so you will need to be flexible.
You will be working according to the Council and Government guidelines and to the regulations of the landlord and the offices.
Due to the location - it would be helpful if you could drive
The working hours for this post are : Monday - Thursday 8.30am -3pm.
The offices are closed on public holidays and Christmas holidays.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Assist with food preparation, including assembling sandwiches, salads, and other catering items
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout all tasks
- Serve customers efficiently with a friendly attitude, taking orders accurately and handling payments responsibly
- Support catering events by setting up, replenishing supplies, and clearing after service
- Manage time effectively during peak hours to ensure prompt service and customer satisfaction
- Keep the workspace clean and organized, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Experience
- Previous barista experience or familiarity with coffee preparation is highly desirable
- Experience in serving customers
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately- mainly card transactions
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Ability to work well as part of a team and on your own while also demonstrating initiative independently

Pay: £13.00 per hour
