Position: Supported/Independent Living Brokerage Officer (Secretarial and Administration)
Location: Fishergate, Preston, PR1 8RE

Contract Duration: 3+ Months
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Pay Rate: PAYE: £14.82 per hour
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide effective administrative and secretarial support to the Supported/Independent Living Brokerage team
- Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, including maintaining records, updating databases, preparing documents, and processing correspondence
- Support the brokerage process by coordinating information between internal teams, external providers, service users, and stakeholders
- Assist with arranging and monitoring support services to ensure they meet the needs of individuals requiring supported or independent living arrangements
- Maintain accurate case files, ensuring all documentation is complete, up to date, and compliant with organisational procedures
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, meeting notes, and other documentation as required
- Handle enquiries professionally via telephone, email, and written communication, providing timely responses and directing queries appropriately
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and reviews, ensuring effective coordination across relevant teams
- Support data collection, reporting, and monitoring activities to assist service delivery improvements
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements when handling sensitive information
- Liaise with colleagues, partner organisations, and service providers to support effective communication and service coordination
- Provide general office support, including document management, filing, and maintaining administrative systems
- Assist with continuous improvement of administrative processes and procedures within the service area
Person Specification:
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in an administrative, secretarial, or business support role
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information
- Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to prepare professional correspondence, reports, and documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
Desirable Skills and Experience:
- Experience within social care, supported living, housing, or public sector services
- Knowledge of administrative processes within a local authority environment
- Understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection principles
- Experience supporting service users or working within a care-related setting
