Qualified Dental Nurse / Receptionist – Full Time
Location: Fallowfield, Manchester
Hours: Full Time – Monday to Friday with alternate Saturdays, up to 42.5 hours per week
We are looking for a friendly, professional and enthusiastic GDC-registered Dental Nurse to join our team in Fallowfield, Manchester.
This is a varied Dental Nurse / Receptionist position, ideal for someone who enjoys both clinical nursing and patient-facing reception duties and is happy to support the practice wherever required.

We are a well-established mixed NHS and private dental practice providing a comprehensive range of high-quality dental care.
Our services include general and family dentistry, children's dentistry, care for nervous and anxious patients, and a wide range of cosmetic and private dental treatments.

What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate must:
- Be a qualified Dental Nurse with current GDC registration
- Have previous experience working within a dental practice
- Have good knowledge of dental treatments and clinical procedures
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be friendly, compassionate and confident when dealing with patients
- Be organised and able to manage a busy workload
- Have a good understanding of infection prevention and control, health and safety and dental compliance
- Be comfortable working both clinically and on reception
- Have good computer and administrative skills
- Ideally have experience using Dentally, although training can be provided
Dental Nursing Responsibilities
Duties will include:
- Providing chairside assistance to clinicians
- Preparing surgeries and equipment for treatment
- Maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control
- Supporting patients throughout their treatment journey
- Maintaining accurate clinical records
- Ensuring surgeries are appropriately stocked and prepared
- Supporting the wider clinical team and the smooth running of the practice
Reception Responsibilities
Reception duties will include:
- Welcoming patients and providing a professional and friendly first point of contact
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with patient enquiries
- Managing the appointment book efficiently and accurately
- Booking, amending and confirming patient appointments
- Organising patient recalls
- Collecting and accurately recording patient payments
- Completing general administrative duties
- Processing relevant private treatment and scheme documentation
- Following practice procedures for outstanding accounts and payments
- Liaising with dental laboratories, suppliers and other organisations
- Supporting stock ordering and stock control
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and professional reception and waiting area
- Assisting with other duties necessary for the efficient running of the practice
Training and Development
We encourage continued professional development and expect all team members to maintain their GDC requirements and attend relevant training, including annual medical emergency and CPR updates.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time position of up to 42.5 hours per week, with variable working hours across Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays. Basesd mainly in Didsbury Dental Lounge but some cover will be required in our Private Town Centre Practice Gartside Street Dental Lounge.
