Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of care assistants, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care in accordance with care plans
- Administer medications in line with residents MAR charts
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and nutrition
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members
- Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns promptly to senior management or healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using IT systems and paper records as required
- Foster positive relationships with residents, relatives, and colleagues through effective communication skills
- Support the organisation of activities and social engagement programmes tailored to residents’ needs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care environment
- Assist with administrative tasks related to staffing rotas, training schedules, and other operational duties
Skills
- Proven experience in senior or supervisory roles within a care home setting or senior care environment
- Administration of medications
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate staff effectively
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Competent IT skills for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans electronically
- Knowledge of care plans development and adherence to regulatory standards in senior care
- Organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Compassionate approach with genuine concern for the wellbeing of elderly residents
