Are you an enthusiastic midwife who enjoys offering a high standard antenatal care to women/pregnant people? You will have the opportunity to work in partnership with the obstetrician, the pregnant person and other multi-displinary teams. The role is core within the services of the outpatient department, which will include working within the Antenatal Clinic, Maternity Day Assessment Unit and Maternity Helpline. The midwife is responsible and accountable for his/her own midwifery practice.
To work in partnership with women and their families, GP, obstetrician and other agencies to ensure optimum care.
To act as an advocate and support for parents.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of mothers and babies in accordance with the
Trust’s policies and guidelines.
Strive for continuity of care and informed client choice within the limitations of the service.
Facilitate the learning of midwifery skills through supervision, teaching and support.
Actively promote and encourage a healthy lifestyle, advising and arranging support for women as required.
Liaise with multidisciplinary teams with regard to arranging appointments management of pregnancy and postnatal care of mother and baby.
Participate in parent information groups, facilitating preparation for childbirth and the postnatal period.
