The Iron & Brass Bed Co. Ltd is a family-run company selling prestige metal and brass beds.
The company is run under the ethos of old-fashioned family values, and we are looking to recruit a Welder/ Fabricator to aid in the company’s main production line. Applicants for this role should be enthusiastic, objective-driven, with a keen eye for accuracy and pride themselves on their attention to detail.
Job Description/ Responsibilities:
Required to process/ weld/ fabricate WIBB products.
Must have good time management skills and complete work within deadlines.
When producing WIBB products to the highest standard, attention to detail is critical.
Keeper of the specification – make WIBB product as per specification if not as per directed.
Responsible for correctly operating company vehicles & equipment within policy and the law where necessary.
Responsible for maintaining WIBB production equipment & facilities.
Can work away from home if and when required.
Aspects above reflect core job requirements, however, from time to time the successful candidate will be asked to carry out other duties, as directed by their line manager.
Job Requirements/ Competencies:
Hard Skills:
1) Education – Ideally Basic English & Math to GCSE grade C and above or equivalent.
2) Ideally Level 2 City and Guilds Inert Mig welding or equivalent
3) Any additional power tool or abrasive power tool qualifications would be advantageous
4) Full Clean English Driving License (Can drive long journeys)
Soft Skills:
Good communication and articulation skills
Good ethical and moral standing including manners, representative behavior and appearance
Can demonstrate initiative and problem solve
Others considerations:
Work well with others as well as on their own
Experience with working in main stream manufacturing would be advantageous
Use to working to deadlines
Objective driven but also can adapt quickly to changes in priorities
The company has a no smoking policy
Experience with manual handling would be advantageous
