Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, particularly with 18.t curtain sided vehicles, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. As a driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the highest standards of vehicle operation.
Duties
- Deliver beds and mattresses to holiday parks, student accommodation and hotels across the UK
- Hours Monday to Friday with nights away during the week
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs as required by company policy and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
- Good level of fitness as we load and unload our beds and mattresses by hand
- Collection and loading of mattresses for recycling
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally at all times.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driving licence (C+E or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices in driving.
- Ability to lift heavy items safely and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- A commitment to maintaining a high level of professionalism and safety on the job.
- Smart in appearance with a desire to maintain good levels of cleanliness in the vehicle
