We support individuals with a wide range of health and social care needs, enabling them to remain safe, independent and connected to their local communities. Our services range from everyday domiciliary care and companionship through to specialist support for individuals with complex healthcare needs requiring delegated clinical interventions.
Main Responsibilities
Person-Centred Care
· Deliver safe, compassionate and person-centred care in accordance with individual care plans and risk assessments.
· Promote dignity, privacy, choice, independence and respect at all times.
· Encourage service users to maximise their independence and participate in everyday activities.
· Build positive and professional relationships with service users, their families and other professionals.
· Where required by the needs of the service user, and following successful completion of specialist training and competency assessment, you may undertake delegated healthcare tasks, including but not limited to:
· Assist with washing, bathing, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene.
· PEG feeding and enteral nutrition.
· Oral suction.
· Epilepsy care and seizure management.
· Administer or assist with medication in accordance with organisational policies, care plans and training.
· Pressure area care.
· Monitoring and recording observations.
· Other delegated healthcare interventions identified within individual care plans.
Person Specification
Essential
· NVQ/QCF Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care (or equivalent) or working towards this.
· Care Certificate.
· Experience within domiciliary care.
· Experience supporting people with learning disabilities.
· Experience supporting people with physical disabilities.
· Experience administering medication.
· Good standard of literacy and numeracy.
· Willingness to complete the Care Certificate if not already achieved.
· Willingness to undertake mandatory and specialist training relevant to the role.
Experience
· Experience working with older people, adults with disabilities or children is desirable.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Supporting service users with complex care needs.
· Ability to build and maintain professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Ability to recognise changes in a service user's condition and report concerns appropriately.
· Ability to maintain accurate written records.
· Good understanding of confidentiality and professional conduct.
· Willingness to learn new skills and undertake competency assessments.
