Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Nursery Nurse/Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in early childhood education, management, and leadership within nursery settings. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the development and well-being of young children while leading a team of nursery staff within the 3-5 age group. The successful applicant will be committed to providing high-quality childcare, fostering a nurturing environment, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursery staff to ensure the delivery of high standards of care and education.
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all curricular areas.
- Monitor and assess children's progress and maintaining detailed records.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times by adhering to health and safety policies.
- Maintain compliance with all Care Inspectorate regulations and other relevant legislation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the nursery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood environment.
- Strong management and leadership skills with previous supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of Child Development, Curriculum for Excellence & Realising The Ambition.
- Relevant childcare qualifications (e.g., HNC, SCQF Level 7 or equivalent).
- Passionate about early childhood education with a caring, patient, and proactive approach.
The Nursery is open Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm for 50 weeks of the year excluding Bank Holiday Mondays and a 2 week period at Christmas, shifts will vary within these times.
Pay: £13.65 per hour
