Overview
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently handling materials, operating forklift equipment, and supporting shipping and receiving activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise mechanical knowledge and warehouse experience in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must be organised, safety-conscious, and capable of performing heavy lifting tasks regularly.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift equipment to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements accurately
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain operational safety
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking and storage according to safety standards
- Support warehouse organisation by maintaining clean and orderly work areas
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow efficiency
- Perform basic mathematical calculations for inventory counts and measurements
Requirements
- Valid forklift licence with proven experience in operating forklift machinery safely
- Prior warehouse experience is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment repair is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) is preferred
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Basic math skills for inventory management and measurement tasks
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Physical fitness to perform manual handling tasks throughout the shift
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
