About the Role
Clearstone Facilities Group is recruiting a reliable, professional and detail-focused Cleaning Operative to support the launch and ongoing operation of a high-quality tenant amenity facility at London Gateway, Thurrock.
This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday on the early shift: 13:30–21:30.
You will play a key role in ensuring the facility is clean, safe and ready for use from the moment the building opens each day. This is a hands-on, active role that requires someone who takes real pride in the standard of their work and understands that a clean, well-presented environment makes a genuine difference to the people who use it.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out all assigned cleaning tasks to the required standard each shift
- Ensuring the facility is clean, safe and fully presented before the building opens for use
- Completing daily cleaning checklists, logs and basic reports accurately
- Supporting colleagues in the cleaning team where needed to ensure all work is covered
- Handling any reallocated tasks if colleagues are absent or duties are reassigned
- Monitoring cleaning material stock levels and flagging when replenishment is needed
- Ensuring all chemicals are correctly stored and cleaning cupboards are locked after every shift
- Identifying and reporting any defects, damage, hazards or maintenance concerns to your manager
- Coordinating and liaising professionally with clients and building users on site, feeding all feedback back to your manager
- Complying with all cleaning procedures, specifications and workplace health and safety requirements
- Completing all required training within the specified timeframes and to the required standard

Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Good spoken English and the ability to communicate clearly
- The physical ability to carry out an active, hands-on cleaning role
- The ability to follow cleaning specifications, checklists and procedures
- Good attention to detail
- The right to work in the UK
- Willingness to complete all required site induction and health and safety training
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous:
- Previous experience in a commercial or contract cleaning role
- Experience in an office, corporate, logistics, hotel or managed building environment
- Knowledge of COSHH and correct chemical handling procedures
- Basic health and safety awareness
- Experience completing daily checklists or cleaning logs

- Based in Stanford-le-Hope, SS17
