We are looking for a skilled and passionate Hand Engraver / Jewellery Silversmith to join our workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for hand engraving jewellery to the highest standard, while supporting the production, finishing, repair, and restoration of our collections.
This role is ideal for someone with excellent craftsmanship, a meticulous eye for detail, and a commitment to producing exceptional work.
Key Responsibilities
- Hand engrave jewellery and bespoke commissions using traditional techniques.
- Produce personalised engravings, including lettering, monograms, motifs, and decorative patterns.
- Manufacture, assemble, solder, and finish jewellery.
- Carry out repairs, resizing, polishing, refinishing, and restoration work.
- Prepare items for engraving and ensure all pieces meet quality standards before dispatch.
- Interpret customer briefs, technical drawings, and design specifications.
- Work with precious metals including sterling silver, gold, and platinum.
- Maintain workshop equipment, tools, and a safe, organised working environment.
- Collaborate with designers and production colleagues to deliver bespoke and production orders on time.
- Contribute ideas for improving workshop processes, quality, and efficiency.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company quality standards and deadlines.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience as a Hand Engraver, Silversmith, Jeweller, or similar craftsperson.
- Excellent hand engraving skills using traditional engraving tools.
- Strong silversmithing and jewellery bench skills.
- Experience working with precious metals.
- High level of manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Pride in producing work of exceptional quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable
- Formal qualification in Jewellery, Silversmithing, Goldsmithing, or a related craft.
- Experience with bespoke jewellery production.
- Knowledge of laser engraving or CNC engraving equipment.
- Stone setting or polishing experience.
- Experience within a luxury retail or jewellery manufacturing environment.
